1. What is AI-generated here
- Every cake render — the four concepts returned from a brief, and every cake image published anywhere on this site, including the home page, the gallery, the style pages and the hero video.
- Nothing on this site is a photograph of a cake that was baked. No client work, no bakery portfolio, no stock food photography.
2. What is not AI-generated
- The decoration brief. Tier sizes, surface, piping, toppers and notes are assembled by code from what you entered in the form. No language model writes them, which is why they are consistent.
- Plaque wording. Your text is typeset by the browser and composited onto the render. The image model never draws letters, so names, ages and dates cannot come out garbled.
- The written copy and the policies on this site. Written by the operator.
3. How renders are marked
Three markings go on every render, and they work at different distances:

Removing the watermark does not remove the AI marking. Paid plans are unwatermarked, but every download on every plan still carries the machine-readable marking, the creation date and the statement that the image is a synthetic cake concept and not a photograph.
4. What the metadata contains
Open any Caketta download in an image tool that reads metadata and you will find:

5. Why it is done this way
Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires that synthetic image, audio, video and text output be marked in a machine-readable format and be detectable as artificially generated. Those obligations apply from 2 August 2026. Caketta launched after that date and does not rely on any transitional period: the marking has been in every download since the service opened.
The visible labelling goes beyond the minimum on purpose. A cake render gets forwarded to a partner, a parent and a bakery within the hour, and the label should survive that journey.
6. Do not strip the marking
Removing or altering the AI markings in a downloaded file is a breach of the Terms of Service. If you re-export a render — resizing it, or putting it in a deck — say in the caption that it is an AI-generated concept.
7. Which models are used
Renders are produced with a third-party AI image model, selected and configured by the operator. The model provider receives the text of your brief for that single generation and nothing that identifies you, and is contractually prevented from retaining it for training. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Limits you should know about
- An image model can produce structures that no decorator could actually build. Treat a render as a target, not a spec.
- Colour on screen is not colour in buttercream. Match to a physical swatch before committing.
- Generated decoration may include elements that are not food safe. Your decorator decides that, not Caketta.
